Mini Bookshelf – Web-to-Print Booklet Prototype Built with Bolt.new

Mini Bookshelf is a playful prototype designed during a bolt.new hackathon, aimed at turning small pieces of content into physical or digital micro-books.

Currently, users can enter a title and upload an image to personalize a mini book. The site then generates a printable PDF (which can be cut and folded into a tiny booklet) or a shareable image card styled like a book cover.

While AI integration is not live yet, the next version will allow users to generate content dynamically, search for real book covers, and enhance the design with AI assistance. The goal is to create a more immersive and personalized experience, combining creativity, play, and technology in a compact, shareable format.

Stack

Next.js Tailwind CSS Bolt.new (for scaffolding and potential AI flow) html2canvas, html2pdf.js Netlify (deployment)

Explore how simple user inputs and eventually, AI-generated content—can be transformed into mini printable books or visually engaging cards to be shared or gifted.

Tested html2pdf.js and html2canvas to support export options
Explored bolt.new as a low-friction dev + prompt tool
Compared prompt ideas for future AI integration (e.g. creative writing, short bios, affirmations)

Challenge

Creating something printable, fun, and interactive from text prompts required aligning web layout with real-world folding and trimming mechanics, while keeping the UI light and intuitive.
